2020 UCR IMPORTANT LINKS

As of February 13, 2020, the 2020 Unified Carrier Registration is now open for filing and is required for all interstate motor carriers.

UCR fees are due annually and normally collected by the UCR Board of Directors in the 4th quarter between October 1 and December 31 for the upcoming year. The start of the 2020 UCR registration period is delayed while the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has been completing its rulemaking process to finalize a reduced fee schedule, hence the UCR Board of Directors recommended that the states delay enforcement of the UCR mandate (ucr.gov) for year 2020. On August 27, 2019, the FMCSA published in the Federal Register, the final proposed reduced fees (https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2019/08/27/2019-18418/fees-for-the-unified-carrier-registration-plan-and-agreement).

On September 6, 2019, the comment period on the notice of proposed rule making (NPRM) was closed. As such, the final 2020 UCR fees are known and UCR registrations can now be submitted with processing agents with systems that account for the revised 2020 UCR fees.
